About Us
Our mandate is to compliment government efforts in promoting community based foster care within Zimbabwe, as momentum is growing in making community based foster care a viable child protection tool.
It is important that orphaned and other vulnerable children are provided with care within family-type settings in their own communities. This allows them to maintain ties with natural support networks such as relatives, friends, neighbours, and minimizes disruption to their education, cultural and social life. Keeping children within their communities also facilitates potential reintegration from residential care facilities when they attain 18 years of age.
Vision
To reach out to all orphans and other vulnerable in Zimbabwe with basic services that will positively impact on their lives
Mission
To promote a holistic, multi-sectoral, context specific, socio- cultural inclusive, integrated, empowering, practical, effective and comprehensive community based approach to foster care of orphaned and vulnerable children and youth.
Aim
To meet the immediate needs of life such as belonging, food, shelter/ 24 hour social support, life skills and skills training, psycho-social support for total well being of the children and youth, with a view towards reintegrating them with their families/communities or other social support systems .
